Shares & Funds topic consolidation

Following on from my efforts cleaning up the Living Room (Living Room topic consolidation), I have decided to simplify the sharemarket related topics as well.

We now have only five main topics, but within each topic I have used thread prefixes to differentiate between various (optional) subcategories.



The topics (subject to some fine tuning are):

  • LIC & LIT
  • ETF
  • Managed Funds
  • Property & Infrastructure Funds
  • International
• Share Investing Strategies, Theories & Education
  • Education
  • FIRE
  • Trading
• Sharemarket News & Market Analysis
  • International
• Platforms, Tools & Services
  • Margin Loans
• Other Asset Classes
  • Cash & Bonds
  • Forex
  • Crypto

The subcategories are not mandatory - so if the thread topic doesn't really fit any of them, don't choose one. They are mainly there to help people find threads on similar topics.

Hopefully this new structure will make it easier to work out where to post and be more flexible when it comes to some of the threads which cover multiple product types (eg LICs and ETFs in the same thread which were always problematic because we previously had to choose one of the two topics to post in).

We'll see how it goes and can always tweak it again if necessary.
