    IOZ went down to 0.09% that's the only reason why Vanguard brought their fees down as well.

    It reminds me of the 4 banks, no one wanted to introduce apple pay at first. Then, as soon as one does, they are all forced to follow suit. I believe Westpac is the only one still holding on with no apple pay.

    Thoughts on IWLD? MER is half of VGS at 0.09%.

    The cons
    Lower FUM at only 82 million, would the fact that it's a fund of funds make any difference?
    Missing US mid cap exposure.
    Larger than market weight US small cap exposure. For some this might actually be a positive.
    The fund is not ex-Australia. So 2.32% of portfolio is actually Australian shares.
    Distribution semi-annual. Personally, I would prefer to have dividends in my pocket sooner rather than later.

    Vanguard Australia brings flamethrower to ETF fee fight

    It didn’t take long.

    Vanguard, the silverback gorilla of Aussie passive investing, is cutting the fee on its $3.7 billion Vanguard Australia Shares ETF (VAS).

    The new fee will be 0.10%, down from 0.14%. Vanguard will forego almost $1.5 million a year in revenue to make the fee cut possible. The move dovetails with the fee cuts on two cross-listed ETFs, VEU and VTS, earlier this year.

    The cut comes 24 hours after a similar announcement by BlackRock, which lowered the fee on its iShares Core S&P/ASX 200 ETF (IOZ) yesterday. The timing, together with Mr Reedman’s statement, suggest that Vanguard’s fee cut could be a response to Blackrock’s cuts.

    Why are there two "Exchange Traded Funds (ETFs) 2019" threads now?

    Probably because somebody started responding to the 2018 thread, and then complained that there wasn't a 2019 thread. Sorry.

    It will be looked at in due course.

    Thanks Geoff. It doesn't bother me, I just thought it was strange.

    ETFs are taking over the world:D. They have started to self replicate. Soon you will see LIC threads gone missing. You can guess who deleted them :p . To all LIC investors be very careful D-day is not very far off :eek:

    Cheers

    Haha it's just finance. In the greater scheme of things I couldn't care less really. I'm very fortunate.

    Won't stop me though :)

    LOL. On of mine called with a What gives moment? Silly person looked at STW's ASX distribution announcement and noticed there is zero franking attached to the franked dividend component. How would I know? Blame it on the fear factor with companies emptying the franking account just in case. As good an explanation as any.

    I know VTS fee reduction was mentioned previously but I also saw the below

    • iShares Edge MSCI World Multifactor ETF (WDMF) – 0.30%, down from 0.35%;
    • Vanguard US Total Market Shares Index (VTS) – 0.03%, down from 0.04%;
    • Vanguard All-World EX US Shares Index (VEU) – 0.09%, down from 0.11%.
