Sell our house for the price we want - not the price the agent and the buyers want us to, and clear all our debt...before we have to sell it.

Find another place to live - hopefully have enough left over from the sale to buy a modest doer-upper in our area with subdiv potential.

I have lots, but they boil down to:

    Ongoing:
    • Extract the highest amount of happiness, wellbeing and contentment from each and every moment of my life.
    • Become a better person.
    • Continually step out of my comfort zone, challenge myself, learn and grow.
    • Remain fit (physically and mentally) and healthy as ever.
    • Have a positive impact on as many people as I can.

    Short term:
    • Financial independence (living costs entirely covered be recurring income).

    Medium term:
    • Financial abundance (never need to think about money again, ever!).

    Long term:
    • Significantly, positively impact the lives of a billion people.

I am 30 yo now, By age 40 I want to have atleast 10-20 properties that are positive cashflow with good growth potential.

I want to buy old doer uppers in my chosen location and do renovations on them full time.

I would like to be able to choose to work when I want and not have to worry about money.

I want to get my cert 4 in building and construction.

I want to finalise everything with my building inspection company to get it up and running. I am nearly there but I have mainly been concentrating on my construction company so the inspection business has been neglected.

Fully recover from a work relating accident.

That will do to start with

Yes - but I plan to stay put in one place for several months so the kids can learn about the culture of chosen city - we'll live like the locals :) We'll do a bit of travelling around at either end. That's the plan anyway.

Wow! That's cool. Spending time in one place is much better, like you said get to settle in to "normal"life, just in another country! Any fb page or blog to follow?? We have been doing similar around oz, no home school eldest is 3, but can see the benefits, they learn so much on the road!
not sure where your at with home school but there is a group on Facebook - travel Australia with kids. Plenty of talk and info for home schooling plus life on the road

    Hey bob,

Cert 4 is a builders licence. Allows you to build anything except high rise buildings. It will come in handy for when I hopefully one day do my own developments, as apposed to going owner build which limits you to 3 builds in 6 years I believe and now in nsw an owner builder can no longer build duplexes.

It won't be used for the renos as most of them will only be cosmetic. Anyone can correct me if I'm wrong but I don't think you need a licence to replace an old bathroom with a new one as long as it gets signed off with an inspector or council. For waterproofing and structural integrity etc

@Brian84 Only a cert 4? does it accompany a trade you've done?? I thought more was involved, there was a post on SS just recently. Theres also a fair bit of BS with CPD points etc to keep the licence

I have done cert 3 in carpentry and joinery so cert 4 is the next level and then there is the diploma which I think allowes you to build high rise. I have been a carpenter for 15 years now

There are companies now which allow you to get a builders licence which is recognised by fair trading and you can get it within a week with no test if you meet their criteria. Does cost $5000 though..
