Going from what kitdoctor says the wave movement isn't based on news/events. So this is just trump news.

Good timing for me to have 30% of my super in Aussie Gold Producers and the GDX ETF. Have been building the position since May 2018.

Longer term will move some of the position to LICs and other cashflow holdings at the right point in time.

Plenty of different ones around. I have one like this:

Swimsportz Swim Trainer From Mr Toys for sale online | eBay

Some find their legs tend to sink when doing “stationary” swimming in which case I’ve found the following works really well. You might find cheaper alternatives:

    Buoyo Leg Floats | StillSwim

In fact the combined package of “specially designed” harness and ankle floats from this guy are very good but relatively expensive. I purchased both a long time ago and continue to use the ankle floats but can’t find the swim belt:

Stationary Swimming System | The Swim Belt by StillSwim Australia

When the pool warms up I will be back into it and hopefully be very fit in time for the mother of all Elliot Waves:).

I personally think SBM is better value at the moment, although I hold EVN.

The reason is the SBM position at the low end of the cost curve. Have a look at slide 20 of the following presentation:

    https://www.asx.com.au/asxpdf/20190515/pdf/4453d47vy550k6.pdf

The recent acquistion of Atlantic Gold pulls down their group cost of production to a similar level to EVN. Under USD $800. There is certainly a possibility the price of gold could creep up beyond USD $1,500. Margin per ounce gets very nice indeed.

EVN is also at a P/E of 37.6 and SBM at P/E 9.0 (data from marketindex.com.au).

With DJIA and SPX my wave count has two alternatives.

    1) This is the first wave down of five sub-waves. 1 down - 2 up - 3 down - 4 up - 5 down. DJIA and SPX are heading lower than their December 2018 lows.

    2) This is a tease and after this leg down finishes (it may have already) there will be a push to all time new highs not that far off, say later this year. Then 1) will start.

After 1) or 2) + 1), then five waves up over a lengthy time frame to the next financial meltdown. I advise to not be in the water or enter the water at this time.

...but what about gold? (Note gold is tearing it up on the way to a very significant top after which it is expected to go into free fall.)

I was convinced that my post above was wrong, but now I see it roughly matches your option 2) so I’m waiting to see if that eventuates.

While the market is getting hammered now, I didn’t sense the euphoria required before an substantial crash. I won’t be surprised if China starts some serious QE and the US Fed start slashing rates sparking the 2) scenario.

    I'm still assessing XJO.

A significant turning point has been reached where five waves up have concluded. The question is, is this the end of a first, third or fifth wave of a larger degree? First or third wave, then okay there will be a pullback but good times are still ahead. If it's the end of a fifth wave, then not so good.

Hence my image showing two opposites - old woman and young woman. An important high point (or low point) needs to be viewed in a larger context which is usually subject to various alternatives (unfortunately).

    Hi kit doctor,

So if it's the end of a fifth wave, does this mean it's the end of this major down turn cycle and the market is heading back up ?

I think if it's end of 5th wave then it's all down from here.

Mate all this up down up down Is giving me motion sickness.

It’s all very confusing. I’m just waiting for the sales to start so I can buy me some discounted shares. Everyone loves a good discount.
