I'm partial to a drop or two from Domaine Chandon or De Bortolis in the Yarra Valley.

A gorgeous brut de brut accompanying some goats curd.....mmmm.

I have visited both many times.

My preference would be Mornington, only because it offers beautiful coastline scenery and some great beaches for swiimming which YV doesn’t. One of my favourite wineries down that way is Ten Miles By Tractor.

As I am very partial to a shiraz, I would strongly consider Heathcote/Seymour/Bendigo area with many great wineries including Brown Bros, Chateau Tablik, Campbells, ... plus a lot of other attractions.

Morninton. There is more to do. Nice cider, beer, foodie places, you could go to Penninsula Hot Springs, fun around Arthur's Seat, many galleries.

Had a great time in Morningtion, but very disappointed with wines in general...... this region does not hold a candle to SW, Margaret River and surrounding wineries

Yarra valley wineries are much better - but as others have said and you would have experienced the Peninsula offers more to do

Come and visit me in the Hunter Valley (walking distance to several wineries) ... can can crack 3-4 bottles of something good and discuss politics ;)
