Hi All, Come across from the main site as well. Thanks for having me. Looking at Whyalla Stuart and Whyalla Jenkins in South Australia. Both newer suburbs of Whyalla I believe and both appear to be tracking well at the moment. Both have reasonable stronger yields and growth picking up. Often being referred to as a good regional investment. Does anyone have any experience with the town ? Any positive or negative comments welcome . One I am looking at is close to if not positive geared which will be a first for me. However I am still hoping for 5-10 year capital growth. Thank You and Great site.
I don't have any experience with it, but from what I've looked at the yields there are the same as metro Adelaide, so why take the risk of going regional SA?
I looked at it a few years ago and decided to go Western Sydney instead (very good decision). Has anything changed since they announced that Olympic Dam wasn't going ahead anymore? Yield there was OK but you can get the same in Brisbane at the moment which would be much more appealing to me.
Have a look at the recent finacial issues of Arrium - sure its not a one industry town, but the steel works do contribute significantly. You'll have to make your own mind up on if the changes are for the best or not.
