I don't know that I'm getting wiser or just older ... but we've lived in massive 5 bed, 3 bath houses and small 3 bed, 1 bath houses and flats and everything in between - and the older I get the more I want to build my next house ... it would be modest and contain: #1 Somewhere with views A bit of land for the vege gardens and privacy Eco installations - double glazed, wide verandas on the western side, underfloor solar powered water based heating/cooling, solar panels etc 2 large bedrooms with room for a sofa/TV in each 1 open plan living/dining/kitchen Lots of inbuilt storage - no office required, but somewhere to store all the paperwork Large laundry for the 2nd freezer and cupboards of preserves Two bathrooms cause when hubby gets in the loo no amount of pleading will get him back out ... and a self contained small cottage in the backyard for guests
