Unfortunately it's the cane toads that migrated.

Got a two story QLDer weatherboard top brick bottom including large deck and patio painted for $12 - you’ll never find me up there when I can spend $12k and add $30k its enough to get me doing something else with my time!

Nicer places to live yes, better investments? strongly disagree :)

Good, get the boomers out so us young ones can put cafes and lifestyle precincts in every suburb of Brisbane.

Correct...Young or old...doesnt matter...brisbane is half a lifestyle market, and half a more corporate market ...neither here nor there and confused at the moment, going through a transition to unconfuse itself to be more competitive with the south in say 7-10 years time (stated goals by bcc, unlike the state govt) .
.pure lifestyle markets such as gc and sc have more percentage to grow in the short term, if brisbane can acheive its goals in 10 yeara time it will outpace gc and sc ..probably both dollar value growth and percentage growth...just that it takes a fair amount of patience with brisbane ...but after a while, they should be able to get there. Currently, brisbane is both a leap of faith and an opportunity ..leap of faith because its expected (which requires faith) that what it is now - a country town- will bloom...its also an opportunity in that prices are relatively cheap at the moment and if goals are acheived, thesr prices will not inly increase in the next upward cycle, but the foundation will be there for further growth in subsequent cycles.

Don't the 'good' schools just follow where the Chinese live now? Sunnybank, Robertson etc have top performing primary schools

As for the GC and SC being better places to live? Maybe if you don't need a job. I feel sorry for those commuting to Brisbane every day for work must really wear you out. Not to mention the superior schooling, events etc.

Hit the coast at the weekend or for breaks when you fancy. Much better than commuting every day.

    shocked reading this article.
Implying that there is a race between sydney and brisbane to be a global city.
Brisbane is at least 30 years behind sydney in terms of global city status. Sydneysiders will laugh at this article.
