    Hi Team,
    • We have a managed fund with reinvested dividends.
    • We set this up in my spouse's name who was once the lower income earner.
    • Now my spouse is the higher income earner, so I'm deciding whether to stop reinvesting the dividends automatically, and perhaps use them to start buying shares in my name.
    • These shares are for long-time hold

A few questions. I'd like to do Vanguard Index funds this time around. Should I:
    • Stop reinvesting my spouse's dividends and put them into my name?
    • We also have a trust/corp trustee. Could we buy it in that name?
Thanks for putting up with my newbie questions.

get some legal, tax and financial advice.

You can't reinvest in a different name directly, but you could get paid and then lend or gift to another entity which then purchases shares. What this entity should be requires legal advice as well as tax advice.
