Who listens to talkback radio regularly?

I love the morning time with Ray Hadley on Sydneys 2GB and never miss any of his shows .:D
Money show on 2GB at night is good

I go back on their website and download the podcast

    Cant stand Alan Jones

Use to love Stan Zemanek , :(:(
Cant stand ABC Sydney Radio but use to like Tony Delroy

Honestly who listens to the talkback in the car in the mornings on the way to work?

I like listening to Angry Alan Jones when ferrying numerous children to various early morning activities. Then Money news when doing pickups after my wife has finished the afternoon shift. Having 5 kids was an awesome idea when they were little - no one told me about outside of school activities!

I'd rather choose what I listen to, rather than have the very narrow choice of a few free to air programs.

    Podcasts and streaming music mostly.

Even free Spotify has far fewer ads than commercial radio.

I remember you called in on the old pay phone at Willunga Hill. It was blowing the dog off the chain and going to be a hot day.

gave up all forms of radio years ago...ads kill me..I last 4 mins and have to turn it off.
And the biggest laugh is they all claim to be better than the rest..yet they are all exactly the same.
ABC has no ads ( other than their own station promos), but cant stomach the indoctrination. CD's rule.

I'm not in the car long enough to listen to much of anything. I dont mind a bit of The Drum (ABC TV) before dinner and my recordings of QandA. Is that the same thing?

Trying to revive this topic whilst we are in Lock-down.

I am tired with all the music and hope someone will talk to me, other than my husband and my son.
    Any recommendations please?
Not fussy, anything edible will do, from the Left to the Right and all those in-betweens.

    Cheers!

Talkback radio is bad for your health.

So many great educational, informational or entertaining podcasts out there. It depends on your interests as to which to choose.

    Podcasts or talking books.

While books from Audible aren't cheap, Amazon have daily cheap specials, and some of those have an Audible reading which is quite cheap, and will be read on Kindle (with a real person reading) while highlighting the text. I'll often pick up (once a month) a book plus narration for less than $10.

Or go low tech and borrow books CDs from your local library.

    Podcasts>>>>>>daylight>>>>talkback radio.

I find Alan Jones seriously delusional, give me someone rational and smart like Sam Harris on podcast any day of the week.

    Ah sorry, wrong terminology.
I dont really mean "Talkback" Radio, I meant conversational, anything other than music.
The Chinese has an App called Ximalaya, which contains all sorts of things from poems to short stories, to stand-up comedian.
Not sure if there's an English equivalent.
Podcast is like an ocean to me but perhaps I should start now ...

Yep, will certainly look into Podcast.
Pity our local libraries are closed, but will look online as to what they have.

    Thanks guys!

Audible is great too - audio books, let someone read a book to you.

Another (better) source of online kindly books is bookbub.com - but they tend not to have as many books with an audiobook option.

Google Kindle Daily Deal for the Amazon daily cheap specials.

I do through podcast apps. The big broadcasters have their shows broken down into content chunks, which allows you to curate the news.

Talk shows ... yes ... love the local ABC with their interesting snippets that often lead me to further educate on something, and informed news

Talk back ... no way ... to many opinionated ignorants
