Yep you are dead right (as per usual), it can be a great idea to simplify things for certain people but as you say doing this you miss out on the advantages of multiple LIC’s such as SPP, discounts etc.
Plus if everyone just simplified to get a simple asx 200 etf, none of us would have anything to read on here and @Simon Hampel might be out of business ;)

So I got a statement from WHF today regarding dividends.
It has listed the number of shares being what I had prior to the SPP.
I transferred money for the SPP on the 28th Nov.
I assume that the money didn't get there in time - and that I didn't get my extra shares?

So - what happens now with the money that I have transferred?

Hi @sharon, I just checked. Shares under the SPP will be allocated on Friday 14th December.

They were not entitled to the recent dividend so the dividend statement you have received is correct.

My pleasure. I didn't do anything except read the first post in this thread nor do I blame anyone for not going through nine pages trying to find an answer.

Hi Sharon... yes existing WHF shareholders just received notice of our Dividend of 9.75 cents per share, which had a Record Date of 26/11/2018.

The SPP shares only get allocated on the 14/12/18, and we haven't received any correspondence from WHF on that yet. Apart from we do know that the price charged was $4.24 per share.

So our SPP purchase was not entitled to the earlier dividend... but will be entitled to the next one.

You got me - I am lazy!! Which is why I like this investing in shares thing in the first place I think. Just buy - and then be lazy enough to not sell.

@emdo - thanks. I am always looking forward to the next dividends. :)

Now to wait for the SPP notification of the allocation. I've never received a satisfactory answer why they cannot be made available electronically. From my perspective they are as sensitive as dividend statements which are available in that manner.

At least now, or rather they should, also have the price included. At one stage they didn't. The darn WHFPB conversion notice didn't include the information so I downloaded the ASX announcement. $4.18 and irrelevant decimal points.

Same goes for CHESS statements despite me not wanting them at all.

You can check in the share registry (computer share). I received my full allocation. Interesting to see if anyone got rejected

Thanks @DK61 but I'm one lazy sod and rarely go into the share registry unless I discover some error I've made such as incorrect email address.

No one got rejected unless there were specific reasons, eg, double applications. The company raised about $10M for some 2.3M shares. Not all shareholders applied obviously.

    Sigh*

Long discussion with relevant share registry.

I won't be holding my breath but apparently an email advice is to be sent soon to advise of the number of shares allocated under the SPP. If it happens and procedures have changed Yippee!
