Opened my email account. Notifications received.

Two notifications as usual from this particular share registry. What a waste.

    Mid-afternoon grump.

If I do decide to take up the offer, it may cause a variation in my Home Country v International split but it won't be a large impact. Will I worry and not sleep well at night? Nup.

And there is no rush. Potential applicants have two weeks to consider it. You can BPay on the last day if you wish. Under the BPay rules, payment is considered to have been made on that day even if the funds have not been received or cleared until after the closing date (I checked this aspect out a few years ago.)

BPay Operations Manual to which I understand billers are required to adhere. The settlement date is the day a payer gives instructions to the participating financial institution to pay the bill usually provided it's before the cut-off time of the business day.

Huh, good to know, I've always taken the safe option of scheduling payments at least a business day prior.

Wait a minute 50k of bpay per year over 50 years @ avg opportunity cost of 5% pa that's a few hundred bucks..... ok, it's raining outside, that's my excuse anyway

I should have qualified that is what you can do but it isn't what I do. Day before is my preference. There can be a mismatch between the biller's cut-off time and the banks cut-off time.

Plus if you are transferring funds into another account to effect a BPay there can be system delays. I have encountered a couple of those issues - sending institution had failures in transmitting the funds although they were shown leaving the account on the day I had scheduled it. Them cosmic rays playing havoc.

Time to go. I'm out of here.

By Jeez, this all sounds very stressful:eek:. So much so that @SatayKing is no doubt headed out of here for his Four Pillars (bloody Shiraz) weekend retreat. Of course followed with the usual coffee chaser - multiple times, practice makes perfect:cool::cool:. Add in a full English breakfast as well for maximum experience.

PS: Serious research happening in the @Nodrog household in an effort to master our best ever meal from Timmy’s Kitchen (Canberra) - Shantung Chicken. This looks promising as an easy equivalent with some minor modifications:

Shandong Roast Chicken - Roasted not fried - adamliaw.com

Next project, mastering Timmy’s Sizzling Bean Curd:cool:.

    Geez I miss Canberra:(!

Hope to see all refreshed ready for the start of a new week:).

Am I in the right thread? WHF or WTF, I can’t remember:confused:. Close enough is good enough:).

Am slowly becoming aware that the life of the retired dividend investor is not without it's own challenges

Makes sense @Islay, as the money saved can be used to purchase more dividend producing assets

After reviewing the requirements of the investment strategy, the SMSF will not be applying for additional shares.

Personally, I will wait until the ETFs I hold announce the amount of distributions before I decide to commit funds. The subsequent result if I do apply is future purchases will be directed towards international to maintain my preferred asset allocation.

    A bit eager, bro.

I'll apply a more disciplined approach. BPay will be done on 1 July. Fresh start and all that.

A valiant attempt good sir. Kudos to you.

    Guessing game.

How many of the share holders will apply? My guess is around 600.

How much will the SPP raise? My guess is $3m.

Then again if the June quarter distributions from STW and VAS are an indication of possible levels in the next FY, maybe more will go for it. Not a clue really.
