Today I was pondering whether to become a premium member or not - so I had a think about the tangible benefits I have gained from the site to see if they totalled $99.

I discovered the SS site in the second half of 2012 while researching granny flat for a heavily negative geared property that we had. I am pretty sure I can across Mindmaster's epic thread and was hooked because it was so relevant at the time.

So - while I cannot give SS credit for introducing the granny flat concept - it did help with that build and general things about the portfolio we already had.

What we have since acted on as a result of SS / PC research :

    - Western Sydney purchase March 2013.
    - Brisbane purchase October 2013 (but opted out of Logan / Redcliffe).
    - loan restructuring / using a broker in June 2014.
    - Wynnum purchase February 2015.

So I guess that is probably $99 worth.

I was going to do a poll on potential answers but decided I didn't know enough.

Some I can think of are granny flats, subdivision, developments, Western Sydney, Logan, Elizabeth, Frankston, share purchases etc

So ...... what actions have you taken largely because of a SS / PC discussion ?

An approved dual occupany between the station and the bay.

Definitely like the area and think it will do well.

Did you get one of the 810m2 blocks ?

    - realisation that a regional / cashflow would currently suit my strategy
    - realisation that I don't want a whole lot of equity tied up in 1 or 2 places doing nothing much
    - confidence to buy a renovator's delight
    - help with approaching country real estate agents and perservering with them
    - reality checks and supportive comments when the time came to bite the bullet
    - differing points of view, helping me to establish my own path
    - met some nice SS investors in Frankston last year
    - companionship and support while waiting for Frankston to come out of the dark cloud of the GFC and into the light - which it now has
    - determination to uncross a collX loan. About 25K more needed for that.

SS/PC has been great place to bounce ideas. Picked up a few little pointers on my development.

My work computer blocks PC whereas I could get through on SS, unfortunately :(

So I'll be on here a whole lot less, only jump on every odd night or so.

Best part of my day was flicking to SS whilst on hold or waiting for another program to load.

I once read about a fella that had 5 investment properties and imagined that it would be the ultimate level of success, and that if I could reach 2 or 3 I would have tricked the universe into thinking I was successful. SS opened my eyes to real (financial) success but more importantly I learnt about valuing the journey and the connection as well as the strategies. Thanks you guys. * shucks.
