QLD Which man-made lake would you live by? Greater Brisbane

I'm currently investigating purpose-built communities for my family for the medium term (7-10 years)

Quick poll, which man-made lake would you choose to live by in Greater Brisbane, and why?

In looking at the family-oriented areas surrounding these lakes districts, would you go:

- old and established (eg: Old Springfield, Mango Hill, Richlands) smaller houses on bigger blocks of land, or;
- newer areas closer to new infrastructure (eg: Springfield Central, can't think of equivalent sint he other 2 lakes areas) while they are available

 

The lake in sandgate

 

None! I’d live in Ipswich.

But yeah...out of those, Springfield. Even has its own mascot. Springy the Springfield Spring.

 

North Lakes or Sandgate.
The climate near the bay is far nicer than inland - warmer in Winter and cooler in Summer. I harp on about it all the time.

 

Springfield and Forest Lake - ten minute's drive to a coal mine.

North Lakes - ten minute's drive to the Marina at Scarborough and the ferry to Moreton Island.

Northlakes or Springfield.

 

North Harbour at Burpengary East will also have a marina.
