Hard question to answer. Most of the places you go on holiday are fun because they are different from ground hog day.

Central coast, north coast, sunshine coast, gold coast are all nice but also have big bogan comminities.

I'm happy in the burbs now. I wouldn't stay in Australia if I didn't have commitments.

If Tassie was about 8 degrees hotter I think most of the mainland population would live there (I know I would). It's stunning and so diverse.
Given that that's not going to happen I'll say somewhere near a beach with a good climate.
On my travels around Australia I'll be bookmarking possibilities.

I will most likely do a working holiday to Cairns and Port Douglas.

I do not know if I can handle the heat long term?

a drive up the coast from Sydney to Brisbane is another working holiday I want to do.

I have been spending some time in Dromana of late. Usually getting fish and chips and then doing a walk along the beach walking track

I would live exactly where I grew up (my name gives it away).
Unfortunately it is a bit expensive for me now but I bought a place nearby.

Bright VIC, but really doesn't compare with Queenstown-Lakes area in NZ, which is fast becoming our plan c.2022 :)

I love the heat and humidity so I'm probably not the best person to comment.... There was 1 day last year that I had the aircon on and there's been a couple of days this year but it was on mainly for my dogs as they struggle a bit on the super hot and humid days.

I guess give it a go and see how you handle it. Always could come up in dry to ease yourself in.

Outside of Young NSW on 100-200 acres. 4 hours to Syd, 2 to Canberra, and cheap land and housing.

I live in the small town I was born in( western Queensland), and am not likely to move anytime soon.

Port Stephens works pretty well for me. Newcastle's less than an hour away should I need a city. Sydney's just over 2 hours away. Pretty happy with my lot, however I'm aiming for a bit more space so I can have a hobby farm.
