I am looking to buy my first investment property in the next 2-5 years. I have read a few books quite a while ago but it is time to get serious and start educating myself.

Where do I start? There are so many books, seminars and courses out there I would like recommendations on the best place to begin. What have you found relevant to the current Melbourne market and what are some good books and courses to get a good grounding on the basics of property investing?

Also any podcast recommendations, just subscribed to The Property Couch and resubscribed to Real Estate Talk after a break

I'm in a similar situation and have been subscribing to several podcasts and newsletters as well as buying books.
I'm enjoying Michael Yardney's books and daily newsletter, the Property Couch podcast is great, as is their book. The Smart Property Investment Show podcast is good too.

Thanks Matthew, I've now signed up to Michael Yardney's newsletter and I'm now on the lookout for a cheap secondhand kindle so I can start hitting the books.

Come along to the next propertychat meet up (yes! in real life! not holograms - well at least I think they aren't!) and be prepared to be bombarded with well meaning, overwhelming info....

I would start by going to home opens. Their is no better way to understand the market.
