    Ha! @JDP1 give me your inside picks for Brisbane. My spread is scattered across the north and south but I'm keen to hear suggestions for CG-driven postcodes in Brisbane metro. I'm up in Brisbane every month with work, so I've done a lot of DD and street-walking in many postcodes.

    There's a number of great buying options depending on goals, but where most investors in Brisbane are chasing yields; I have a pretty good yield in the portfolio already. Looking to step it up and seek out a CG-grower. Any thoughts? Happy to take this private message if you are interested to chat?

    Regionals in Qld or any state?

    Ballarat fits those criteria if you're interested in Vic. This was just in today's local paper - http://www.thecourier.com.au/story/3233540/ceo-bullish-on-region/?cs=61

    Thanks Toon, yep open to regionals in any state providing of course the right CG drivers exist in the town. Ballarat is good shout, I might do some digging..

    Victoria works for me too because I don't own anything there yet, so it's a Land Tax 'freshie' for me to get amongst!

    Have a look at Miners Rest in Ballarat. Quality properties at very affordable prices. We're very happy we purchased there.

    @C-mac

    Re: regional focus you could do worse than to look at Armidale NSW.

    Traditionally always a good place for strong yield.

    The local government member is looking to strengthen the town and diversify industry, locals are pushing council for a greater focus on industry and other retail options.

    Some good potential for capital growth over the next 5-10 years.

    The university students always provide a string rental income and whilst UNE has went online there are still a large proportion of internal students.

    Cheers,

    Phil

    Despite the stamp duty slug compared to QLD, I'm eyeing off some places in regional VIC now in my due diligence; a bit of a shift away from QLD!

    Just went unconditional on our first QLD property. Looking to get another one before the end of the year. Will reconsider finances and might have to start looking at regionals. Do not have anything in VIC so would like to get some there.
