Mt Druitt. That is where all the apartments are.

No! There are apartments in both Mt Druitt & Old Mt Druitt. There's not as many in Old Mt Druitt, but they are there, nonetheless.

Are you talking about the buildings near the mt druitt market on Durham? I will never buy in there. If I ever invest in a unit in Mtt Druitt it will on hythe, meacher/methven st or carlisle av near the station.

I've watched Mt Druitt for over 25 years ( and never bought once ...) but am open to the idea . Didn't buy in last cycle as we already had decent Sydney based holdings and didn't want to pay more land tax ...

Sash maybe right re when the bottom is , but IMHO , I wouldn't buy at that stage as it will be a while before it moves . We've sold down in Sydney so have room to buy at some stage . Might be another potential down sizer , or maybe some potential medium term trades in Mt Druitt .

I'm game for the Druie when the **** falls out of the market...it always does.....3 cycles prove this. It is your classic boom bust area.

I actively bought pre boom in western sydney and topped up at the peak and bought in other markets. I sold one property (strata) but held everything else and will till next cycle. Per sash's post above, if the prices fall significantly during this correction phase, I will be looking at buying in again.
