No it was covered over because there was a better window on the LHS (there is a curtain over this one it in the old photo).Plenty of light because we also opened up the kitchen through to the dining.

This thread is mind boggling - were all of these items not present during the pre-settlement inspection? Or do some people just not conduct thorough pre-settlement inspections???

I took possession of my second IP and inherited some nice garden ornaments and water features including one with a goldfish in it ( we still have the fish!). But one of the ornaments (a copper lizard about 1 metre long) was clearly special to the owners because the day after settlement somebody scaled the fence into the back yard, unscrewed it from the fence and stole it!!!!

Errr... 3-5 scratches in groups of roughly 1cm wide going for about 5cm.

Either the kid was locked in there and wasn't happy or they were breeding goannas.

I googled the words on it (Zenith 8 days) and this came up:

    http://tempussuisse.com/shop/other/zenith-maritime-ship-clock-c1930s/

So beautiful! The ring around it winds the clock up and can be used to adjust the time. It's a keeper!

On most occasions the property is occupied and furnished so it is the items left behind

At the moment, i'm just admiring it at home. I can hear it ticking away. I think it may keep working for a few centuries!

Ok - maybe I'm confused - I thought the thread was about what previous owners had left behind - so assumed property was owner occupied - and given a pre-settlement inspection should be done as close to settlement as possible (ideally on the morning of) - I was assuming property would be vacant by then.

IF however the thread was actually about what tenants had left behind when you do an exit inspection I guess that's a bit different.... You would hope the agent would get them to sort that prior to releasing bond though.

    Sorry if I was confused.

I love these two too - I found them in the large backyard shed before my family moved out from my childhood home.
