I just noticed this on the final application page:

"RentCoverUltra does not include cover for defined risks (fire, storm, water damage etc.) for the building."

No fire? That's literally the second most likely problem (the first being tenant issues)...is this normal? Admittedly I've never read my Terri Scheer or AMMI policies that thoroughly.

That's because RentCoverUltra is designed for strata titled units/townhouses, it's a contents/landlords policy. In a strata titled property the building is insured by the Body Corporate, you as a strata property owner cannot insure something you don't own.

If you are insuring a house on the other hand and use RentCoverPlatinum, defined risks are covered for both the building and contents (as you have an insured interest).

Other policies (including Terri Scheer) are exactly the same in this.

Thanks for the detailed explanation. I'll go ahead and finish my application!

So how do I get this discount? Do I just enter my username into field below the "how did you hear about us" field?

Also thanks for doing discounts for bringing over multiple properties. I always felt it was unfair that there was no bulk discount with AAMI. That's a huge selling point for me to bring my portfolio over.

Sorry I just found we had an issue with the link, caused when an SSL certificate was installed.

If you use this link it will identify you as a PropertyChat member and automatically give you a discount.

Hi Brett, tried to put an application through - i think it worked but after I clicked submit, it seemed to go back into a loop and start the quote & application again?

Can you private message the name it is in and the property address please so I can check. That doesn't sound correct so I would rather make sure. Thanks.

Possible to get this discount by calling up? We need to do an application over the phone for a number of reasons. If so, what should we quote when we call up?

Yes no problem. Just call 1800 661 662 and let them know you are a PropertyChat member and they will apply it the same. Let me know if you have any problems.

Yes. We can only apply it to properties being insured for the first time with us.

    Hi Brett,

I didn't know that there is a discount offer for property chat member.

I just recently signed up with EBM for my first investment, is it possible to still get this discount ?
Possibly applied to the next year term or something like that ?

    Thanks

It may not be possible but if you private message me your client code I will at least see what I can do.

Hi @brettc, who's the best person for me to chat to about EBM cover up here in South East Queensland? I had a chat with someone I met at an REIQ event but they never followed up. I'm keen to start getting my clients over from certain competitors.

Hi Tomas, best person for you to speak to is Michelle Stone, her number is 0413 529 297. I've spoken to her and she will get in touch with you if you don't get her first. Any problems let me know.
