ok, my relative, is 18 yrs old,
very intelligent, not genious, but straight A student, got an ENTER of 95
from a youngish age, hes always been trying to find loopholes
he finds the challenges of finding a loophole exciting and rewarding.

however, not all can be considered good

some of the things hes done recently is
    - how to use the public transport system legally and travel across 2 zones but get charged for one (legally)
    - how to travel on a concession ticket when not eligible for concession (ethically questionable)
    - importing apple goods from different countries by takign advantage of currency fluctations, where he can get about 15% off (nothing illegal but hard to make a profit)
    - maximise credit card points and woolowrths/flybuys (the kid doesnt even have a credit card!)
    - hes created a spreadsheet with outright phone prices vs plan prices
    - his dad wanted a new phone plan but wanted to keep his mobile, and being a high end user, son agreed to sign him up on a plan, got a iphone 7, sold it immediately and used the cash and went on an all expenses holiday to bali for a week

personally I think this a great ability.....

I would question the legality of both of the above, just because something is possible by exploiting a loop hole in the system doesn't make it legal.

Sounds like he takes advantage of all the cards he is dealt. Likely a personality trait that could help take him far.

Thats impressive and would have taken a fair amount of organisation which is a key trait for future success.

As for "bending the rules" I reckon every entrepreneur has done it to one extent or another.

Not sure I understand this. Do you mean he stole his friends' money?

Sounds like he got a $75 referral fee for every friend he directed to ING Direct who opened an account (and the friend go another $75 as well).

He sounds like he's a) intelligent and b) bored.
He needs something to take up his mental time and energy. What are his interests? Can he start up a small business? Something that needs him to have a web page - selling goods and/or services, but legally.
You do see kids like this, they can use their powers for good or for evil. If he can direct his time and energy into something he thinks is worth his while, and is legal, it should keep him out of trouble long enough to let his frontal lobes catch up. By his mid 20s he will have settled down a bit and worked out he can keep busy making money legally, rather than finding legal/ethical loopholes in things.

It's a referral program. His friends opened ING accounts. He got $75 for each one and each friend also got $75. It's a win/win. All legit.

Here's the link. The person who opens the new account needs to deposit $1000 a month to qualify for their bonus.
