After playing the original C&C and Red Alert, it was the main sequel Command & Conquer: Tiberian Sun (1999) that really got me into the RTS genre. It was a bit of a nerdgasm with Michael Biehn and James Earl Jones doing the cut-scenes.

Oh, and I recently bought Age of Empires II: HD Edition on sale on Steam ... haven't played it yet though. I used to play AoEII a lot ... 1999 as well I believe - good year for RTS!

I used to comp a lot when I used to play. Played a HEAP of CS:1.6 and only got a bit into the CS:GO a while ago.

Yeah I've got Razon Kraken headset/mic great value for money.

I have never played Red Alert past level 1. It kept crashing but it seems good!

Dune 2 got me into RTS. Then C&C, Dune 2000, Tiberian Sun and even Dune 3 which I didn't like much (but it had great graphics). I still finished it.

I am compiling a list of games I want to play through when I get a chance. I own most already but planning to add a few. Looks like I need to stop renovating and start playing! :)

    Civilization
    CivNet
    Civilization II
    Civilization III
    Civilization IV
    Civilization V

    Colonization
    Alpha Centauri (planning to buy)
Civilization IV: Colonization (planning to buy)

    Command & Conquer
    Command & Conquer: Tiberian Sun
    Command & Conquer: Renegade
Command & Conquer 3: Tiberium Wars
Command & Conquer 4: Tiberian Twilight

    Command & Conquer: Red Alert
Command & Conquer: Red Alert 2
Command And Conquer: Red Alert 3

    Command And Conquer: Generals

    Myst
    Riven
    Myst III: Exile
    Myst IV: Revelation
    Myst V: End of Ages
    Uru: Ages Beyond Myst

    Half Life
    Half-Life 2
    Portal
    Portal 2
    Far Cry

w00t! It looks from this list that I have been too busy buying games and not enough time playing them!

    Planning to buy:
    Wasteland
    Fallout
    Fallout 2
    Fallout Tactics
    Fallout 3
    Fallout: New Vegas
    Wasteland 2

I might even give Theme Park and Theme Park World a play through if I get a chance. I own both.

I never did get to play C&C Renegade - it wasn't like the other games, more of a FPS I think?

I really enjoyed C&C3: Tiberium Wars - spent a lot of time playing this.

There were a heap of 3rd party maps you could download and some of my favourites were the resource rich maps where I'd play 8-on-1 against the AI (7 AIs vs me). I used to play the same maps over and over, trying to work out a strategy for defending my bases for long enough to build up enough resources to start going on the offensive.

I had some great battles against the AI which was one of the best I've played against.

C&C:RA2 was great ... but I was very disappointed with RA3 - became too arcade-like and the gameplay was simplified too much.

The reviews I read about C&C4: Tiberian Twilight were so bad that I didn't even bother buying it.

I had a real soft spot for C&C:Generals ... it was a bit different in dynamics to how the other games worked and was more pure military-based rather than scifi-based.

This is what I have heard too. I am looking forward to all of them except RA3 and C&C4: Tiberian Twilight. If I ever finish C&C4 I will let you know if it is bad.

Kicking myself for not buying the Nintendo Mini when it was relaunced. So many of the classic games and it was only a $100 but they stopped selling them now.

I've been looking for a decent asynchronous turn based game to play with a mate.
Asynchronous is the only real option given our lives never line up nicely.

Picked up frozen synapse. It's awesome.
While I'm still waiting for him to install it,
I've been playing through the campaign.
    Good quick strategic fun.

hehe ... just saw the Steam Store page for C&C4:

    upload_2017-5-16_6-12-26.png

... every other C&C game they have gets "very positive" ... shows you just how bad everyone thinks C&C 4 is.

It will forever be known as "the game that killed the franchise".

Not endorsing the site in this link, but it's funny you mention C&C 4.

All 17 Command and Conquer games for under $7. Pretty good deal for the classics and even generals. But not C&C 4, that was just horrible.

[PC] Daily Deal - Command & Conquer: Ultimate Edition PC $6.89au

Not what I am playing but I foresee some good gaming in my future. Dropped by EB Games on my way home from work and picked up these:

Fallout New Vegas Ultimate Edition $9.00 (was $29.95)
Fallout 3: Game of The Year Edition $9.00 (was $29.95)
Crysis: Maximum Edition $9.00 (was $19.95)
Assassins Creed and Assassins Creed 2 $9.00 (was $19.95)

It will be my first time through for all of them, so looking forward to it. I just need:

    a) some time
    b) a computer that will run Crysis.

    May be a while! :D

Bugger. How could I forget StarCraft?

    Add these to the list:
    StarCraft
    Brood Wars
    SC2: Wings of Liberty
    SC2: Heart of the Swarm

I don't have Legacy of the Void yet. It is on my list.

Thank you @devank. I consider that a very serious oversight! :D

There's a similiar game on Steam called Doorkickers - a SWAT version of Frozen Synapse that gives you differing scenarios. It's slower paced, but I enjoy the kick in the guts from planning for 25 minutes and watching my well-crafted plan fall apart immediately

I never knew this was a thread on here! I really enjoy gaming! With a young family I don't play as much as I used to.
Many of my gamer buddies have left me behind and are all using the xbox one now. I'm still happy on the xbox360/ps3 I have a backlog of about 70 games I want to play. Many of which I purchased for less than $5 (cheap entertainment). I'll probably never play all the games in my library!

Not a PC gamer...except for the Total War series. I don't play TW anymore because I would 'lose' hours and hours!!

Just finished playing with Lara Croft in Rise of the Tomb Raider.

Currently scaring myself silly at night with lights off playing Resident Evil 7 Biohazard on PC.
