What mean small tribunal claims in Brisbane/Queensland?

    Can I ask what is considered as small tribunal claims in Brisbane? What are not considered as small tribunal claims i.e. claimed amount is greater than certain amount?

    Minor civil disputes
    Minor civil disputes include:

    • claims to recover a debt or liquidated demand of money
    • claims arising out of a consumer-trader or trader-trader contract
    • claims for damages to property in relation to a vehicle
    • claims for repair of a defect in a motor vehicle
    • residential tenancy disputes
    • dividing fence or pool barrier disputes.
    Applications or referrals under: Application fee
    More than $1,000 but not more than $10,000 $112.50 (not payable by State-related person*) $
    More than $10,000 $315.70 (not payable by State-related person*)
    More than $500 but not more than $1,000 $63.20 (not payable by State-related person*)
    Not more than $500, or no amount claimed $24.60 (not payable by State-related person*)

    * State-related person means (a) the Sovereign; or (b) the State or a person acting for the State; or (c) an entity whose expenditure is payable, in whole or in part, out of the consolidated fund or a person acting for the entity.
