This, in the main, these days.

When I first joined the forum, I read day in, day out. Every post by every poster. It was like a drug. It helped shape my thinking and because, although life deals many challenges, I kept on coming back, I think it kept me focused on property long term. There are way too many people who inspired me over the years to mention them, and many have moved on now.

Through meet-ups I have not only gained knowledge, but friendships that I value. My best friend, I met many years ago now at one of the Glebe meetups, and although she has moved on from the forum, we still talk every day. I was the one that introduced her to her Husband who is not an investor.

There have also been one or two people that I wish I hadn't met. Steve Navra comes to mind, ....but thankfully I didn't lose any money with him, mainly because he belittled my choice of investments & looked down on me. I'm super grateful for that.

If this forum had never existed, I would probably have only ever bought one IP. The first one we bought before I found the forum. Our financial circumstances would be very, very different today.

@skater totally with you on the friendships formed. Made a couple of great, sincere friends on here and perhaps a best friend as well who is just awesome.

You were fortunate you did not lose money, I know someone who did.

I spent most of my spare time over the last few years on SS/PT and PC (NZ). Learned pretty much everything I know about investing and still learning. Found my investment role models. Had some good deals passed on to me along the way, like a 2 unit block I'm just buying for $130k each. After a quick $7k or so reno hoping to value/flip at $170k each or rent for $270 pw each. No stamp duty, no land tax :D

Most importantly I enjoy the online friendships and set myself a goal to meet more of my favourite posters in the flesh some day :D:D

I think posters like ald and fullylucky are legends...and that other guy..forgot his name.. Some Jewish guy...I think he got kicked out of the forum. Legendary posts... For all the wrong reasons, but legendary nonetheless.
And also that bird.. Forgot her name as well.. The one who had every guy drooling over her, used the knowledge of her male admirers and once she got what she wanted ( took as much knowledge and gave zero knowledge in return), made a rapid exit never to be seen again...:)
