I predict if shares crash posts on PC will be reduced by 50%.... what do you think?
... and if property markets crash... we are all going to hell:p

If they’re serious Share investors with half a brain and looking to expedite their wealth creation then PC posts should increase 500% if the market crashes.

But you’re likely to be correct unfortunately,

@MTR you are the property timing advocate.......

Share crash as quoted - gfc the last one.... presents buying opportunities just like you have taken advantage of in property. Horses for courses, I could not do what you are doing in Atlanta along with others Karina etc, good on you all. It was a crash of epic proportions. The gfc was a result of the repackaged housing loans and double whammy property crashed too.....very simplistic explanation but that is kind of how it happened.

Your instinct was perfect and you now are extremely comfortable with your hard earned knowledge. Exchange rates worked in your favour, you sought out contacts, international tax knowledge. Structure etc, amazing. You needed cash to do what you have done, and needed multiple props to make it worthwhile.

A sharemarket crash or correction for me is semi regular. I can tolerate purchasing in another gfc at low prices, or a market correction. I am not a share trader so I see low prices as a buying opportunity and then enjoy the upswing.... it’s not the capital value, it’s the cash flow dividend stream that I seek.

It’s kind of same , just more comfy for both us in markets we are familiar with.

And a share correction/crash will see an increase in posts, people seeking buying opportunities.

This mentality I credit to Thornhill, and the wonderful thing is, many forumites are like minded. I think if there is a crash, a lot of people will hold and even use it as a buying opportunity. Why? The dividends don't tend to be cut anywhere as much as the share prices and hence it's a strong buying opportunity, yields increase. Can't argue that logic!

I meant this century but not looking backward, only forward. In other words at this stage I very much doubt the fall would end up exceeding the GFC lows.
