I wouldn't sacrifice living next to highway.

My morning routine involves me running to the footpath in my Reg Grundies to pick up the newspaper.

Which mushroom voted no windows in the bedroom :p

The train station one depends on how far we are talking. I currently commute to the train from a tram and that's fine. If I had to drive 15-20 minutes to a train then no chance.

Small backyard is the new normal and will only continue to be so.

I actually found I liked sleeping in a bedroom without window especially in noisy precinct, it gave more peace and quiet throughout the night, instead of getting awake by rubbish truck, etc in mid night lol. But having no natural light is a big disadvantage.

Would this be a Fairfax or Newscorp edition?

And can all of the traffic be certain of the current temperature give your Grundie run?

    There was no option for:
    • Waterviews
    • Deep water frontage with mooring
    • Helipad
    • Inclinator
    • Lift
    • Maids quarters
    • Scullery
    • Cellar
    • Air raid shelter
    • Fibre to the premises
    • 3 phase power
    • Man shed
I don't know how I could choose between any of these....maybe the waterviews might lose out.

Oh.... disagree completely. The last 2 IPs I bought for location and aspect to the water... and both happen to be houses on land, not units. Waterviews all the way baby.
I'll live without the air raid shelter and the second bathroom.

So the 2nd bathroom is not as essential as it has proclaimed itself to be!

I'm thinking of that move to South Korea or Japow - bomb shelter is rising steadily on the wants list.
(I'm glad no-one thought the other essentials to be frivolous).

But i dunno how one could go back living in one without ensuite once you have lived in it. It's so inconvenient without one....

And how can you not have a car park.... what if there's hail storm, lol. And having your bmw sitting under the sun 24/7.....urgh.....

We bought on a main road which literally nobody wanted. Been on the market for months. We paid way below suburb average at possible 30% discount to suburb average. 3-4 month settlement we found out that it is zoned RGZ because it is on a main road. Whether it's luck or not, I think it's possibly our best purchase to date.

My mum's place has a dunny without windows (just fan). Seems to work ok...... unless you have a blackout while you are s*itting in there in which case it's dark and smelly.

If it sits on the road 24/7, then you don't need a car.

Had a loo like that in one of the offices I worked in recently - not good.
I think only a mum could make that sort of thing work ok.

I must say it is better than the loo I went to at a friends place in the Gold Coast - floor to ceiling *clear* window next to the bowl  Loo with a view but......

Did the window have a pull down curtain? Hopefully a "Yes" would be in order... assuming your friend didn't have some kind of hobby involving startling his/her neighbours on a regular basis...

It actually had wooden venetians - of course I opened them to see what the view was like. Discovered no matter which angle you had them, you were looking at (and being looked at from):

    1. courtyard of ground floor apartment next door
    2. lounge / bedroom of apartment next door at same level
    3. balcony of apartment at level above

Why bother with the window????

Actually, if anyone decides to make use of the #2 cubicles in the toilets at the ASX building in Melbourne, do NOT sit too long - the motion/IR detectors cannot detect into the cubicles, and after a very short time, all the lights go out, leaving you in utter pitch dark (granted I was in the early hours of the morning, so no one else came in to use the loo). Lucky my iphone had a torch function!!! ... and no there is definitely no window

Y-man, there is some opportunity to be had here in the next issue of House & Garden.

Alternatively, if you get a capital W tattooed on each cheek, with a small amount of effort, numerous neighbours can experience a lot of "W o W".

I voted small kitchen. It's something that can be changed but most of the other things can't be changed.
The train station does little for me either but I voted kitchen first.
