VIC Westside Meetup - Royal Hotel Essendon - Thursday 1st February @ 7pm

Good afternoon all

The next Melbourne west-side meetup is booked in as follows:

Date : Thursday 1st February 2018
Time : 7pm
Venue : Royal Hotel, 873 Mt Alexander Rd Essendon (we'll be in the bistro under "Property Chat").

Let me know by posting on this thread who is coming so I have an idea of numbers.

Come along for food and/or drinkies and some excellent chit-chat.

This venue is within a short (2min 150metre) walk of Essendon Station for those who wish to commute by train (see map below). Essendon Station is on the Craigieburn line. Alternatively trams run along Mt Alexander Rd... most notably tram 59 which can collect you in Elizabeth St Melbourne and take you all the way to the venue.

For those that are driving, there is parking behind the venue, on Mt Alexander Rd, behind the Post Office, or at the train station.

For our visitors from the regionals of Geelong and Ballarat that are commuting by train, you will need to change trains at North Melbourne Station or Southern Cross Station to pick up the Craigieburn line.

Hi there,

New to the west side but I have attended catch ups on the east.

It would be nice to drag Mrs to the dinner and also to meet people on the west, oh it is before Australia day so probably it is feasible to take Jr with us and send him to bed late.

JacM do you know if the venue is kids friendly? I'm guessing that would be the case as long as he does not want to play with the pokies.

I will let you know shortly which family members will make it to the gathering.

Hi folks

Stupidly I appear to have scheduled this meetup for the evening before a long weekend which will rule out folks that wanted to go away. Accordingly I have made the executive decision to move this meetup to a week later. It will now be on Thurs 1st Feb. I've asked Simon Hampel to edit the thread topic and text for me since the edit button isn't there any more.

Hi Jay,

The venue does not have play equipment or a play area but does have a childrens' menu. I've factored in seating for the usual group of 10 adults so need to know if additional seats are required. As long as children are well-behaved enough to allow the original purpose of the meeting to be upheld (conversations about property) then all good . Who knows, the odd investment word or concept might even rub off on the young ones .

 

I can drive you home if you want to do that!

 

This meetup is this coming Thursday. If folks can let me know in this thread who is coming along it is very helpful for knowing how many seats we need
