Warrants of possession, secure storage and guns (QLD)

Hello there

Has anyone come up against finding unsecured weapons when enacting a warrant of possession? A friend has a property where they have been given a WoP and it will be enforced shortly by the the police. He is concerned about his responsibilities if there are unsecured weapons in the premises. The property is in a rural township so weapons are a bit more common than say in a regional or capital city. There has never been an application to install a gun safe in the property. There are strict laws regarding storage and transportation of weapons in Queensland so he would need to take immediate action to securely store them for the required time frame.

His PM it seems doesn't have a clear answer so asking if anyone else has experienced something like this or can provide some direction on where to look? Thanks

 

If the police are executing it and its found while they are there, they would take care of it, if their not there call them and they will take care of it.

 

Landlord = not their problem.
Tenant = probably won't have the best day.

 

The tenant needs to install a gun safe with or without the agent's consent (minor alterations ie 4 Dynabolts). He'll have bigger problems than a minor make good issue if unsecured guns are found in the house.
