It must be hard to run a restaurant, people turn into mutants when they are hungry.

Also guilty of getting hangry, but never came close to walking out until recently at a cafe in the middle of a shopping centre.

15 minutes after ordering, nothing. Not too annoyed yet.
30 minutes after ordering, notice that at least 3 tables that ordered after us all have their food. Got annoyed, flagged a waitress down who claimed they were busy, but she had nothing to say when I pointed at the food on other tables.
45 minutes later, after watching several more tables getting served, I was ready to walk. Told my wife that if the next dish that comes out of the kitchen isn't ours, we're leaving (after putting money on the table for the drinks.) Thankfully they were ours.

    Food was crap though.

I was the first person at my table to order however 'my order must not have been taken'. I too was watching everyone being served relatively quickly around me.

We've had a few walkout moments over the years but the best ones are probably these...

A couple of years ago my wife and I walked out after finding parts of a cockroach mixed in with my main meal. The manager tried to convince us it was capsicum but no chance. He did offer to make another meal from the same kitchen and couldn't understand why that wasn't going to fly.

I've sent back many a steak that wasn't cooked right over the years but I'll never forget when a well known steak house had 3 goes at cooking a rather expensive steak rare (which I might add was not only how I like my steak cooked but also how they recommended it be cooked), all of which came out beyond well done and then the head chef proceeded to walk out and give me his 2 cents worth about being wrong and not knowing a rare steak when I see one. Last I checked rare steaks aren't dried out grey lumps of chewy leather. Walked out of there before the arrogant fool ruined another nice piece of meat.

Are we sharing food horror stories?:p
I can tell you about that one time in a city called GZ in a country called C involving my husband, a mystery bowl of soup and a lizard.
We did not walk out as we weren't sure whether the surprise element was an 'ingredient' in said mystery soup lol

I got some pretty damn poor service at Maccas once.

Felt like I was being served by kids.

After sitting down and eating I went to the bathroom with the intention of squeezing through the window and doing a runner. However, I realised that I had already paid for the meal.

I know, it wasn't worth taking the chance.

There are times when it's justified, but I think the example in the OP is over the top. They should be made to pay something.

I remember one incident. I look back and laugj now

Customer found a long brown hair in their food (no staff had long brown hair)

We remade it and they found another one!!! Shorter and black this time

What are the odds of that!

I frequently used to walk out of restaurants but nowadays it's either stagger, carried or thrown ;)

    Walking is so overrated.

I suppose it's pretty cool to get carried out of the pub too.

Datto, I'd say you are probably not the first nor the last restaurant enthusiast to have a memorable experience such as this.

Let's hope Micky D's don't introduce a Beef Vindaloo Burger.

Ha ! Don't you love it when you've dined out, apparent nice meal, exit the restuarant, jump in the car , drive off and after the very first corner your new mission in life becomes "find a WC REALLY FAST!!" lol.

Two minutes later.....no more pain? What a relief. Maybe its gone? Thirty seconds later "Aargghh no way" It's round two! I'll do it in the bushes if I have to lol.
