    That's bearable.
How much was it to redo it all?

To re-sheet with gyprock, plaster, then install all new cornice, skirting board and architrave? I really lost count of the number of times I went to Bunnings for materials.. I'd be guessing by saying $7000 which includes all materials and 50% paid labour (other 50% my labour).

Awesome, thanks for the details. Looking to do something similar when we move back to BNE.

What a difference before and after. You've done an amazing job. For me, nothing beats before/after photos. Even on renovations we've done ourselves I still enjoy looking back at the photos. It is so easy to forget how it looked before.

Have you had a revaluation. It would be good to know value before, total cost of reno and value after.

thanks Wylie, I agree we'll be looking back at the before photos in years to come and have some good memories. I'll have to put up a photo of the makeshift kitchen which we used for quite a while.
The agent who sold us the house came to give a valuation. He gave us a figure of about $650k. We bought it for $500k and spent about $60k.

    great job!

I did notice the cornice, makes a big sutle difference to a room rather than the standard stuff i think.

did you keep the old bath and vanity?? or sell it?

no,we ended up buying a new iron one for about $300. I chose my battle with this one.. After having a go at white knight painting a few years ago and ending badly, I thought I'd concentrate my efforts elsewhere..

Wow. What a transformation. I like the mixed board colours in the floors and the overall dark look of the floor that contrasts with all the white. Great reno.

    Ah no worries.
I'm still yet to give it a go myself.

Some people have given the paints a good review on the forum.. and the youtube video makes it look pretty easy.

How much are you going to do yourself on your reno?

Realistically, probably only painting, general screwing (up) stuff and being an assistant. I'm scared of power tools ;)
