Urban single apartment living on a budget

I wonder what thoughts other property owners may have as to the ideal urban convenience apartment lifestyle environment living.

Having owned a few rural & semi rural properties in the past. I am now considering selling up & purchasing a low maintainance appartment / unit most like in or as close to Melbourne as possible.

Minimum investment with the maximum single mature woman's convenience lifestyle is the plan.

Investment wise provided that the property keeps up with inflation I am not particularly concerned,

Any suggestions on recommended areas re the best value on a modest budget would be appreciated
