Heartbreaking ... and appears most of the troublemakers (looters) are white trailer trash or out of state supremacists trying to incite a "civil war" (their own words)

The black community has tried to bring this issue to the fore via peaceful means and were demeaned, lost their jobs and attacked for such (taking the knee) ... the leader incites more violence (they loot we shoot) ... police kill first and ask questions later (then get off: note coroner releases statement blameing Floyd for dying due to underlying hearth issues) ... white dudes get away with murder, and covered up, until months later there is public outrage ... this had been simmering for decades, just needing a flashpoint

    A country so broken

Imagine if all of the above where African-American

Thousands of protesters in cars and on foot have flouted Michigan’s stay-at-home orders to demand the state reopened. ‘It’s time for our state to be opened up’ said one protester in her car. ‘We’re tired of not being able to buy the things that we need, go to the hairdressers. It’s time to open up

I would have drafted these guys and placed them straight on the frontline in Afghanistan and Iraq. Then we'll see how tough they are.

Quite a few properties were burnt down from what I saw on TV.

    This could spread.

If my memory is correct, this kind of "Riots" happened every few years. When a coloured person got killed on the street or in the jail, there would be some social unrest. Looking at this from the outer, I just cant fathom how someone can live in a place this torn.
But then the same applies to some war-torn countries.
For now, just count my blessings that we live in a pretty safe and laid-back country.

This whole thing is just damn sad. Watching the footage was pretty distressing.
The divide in USA is terrible. I hope people take leadership over there to heal their issues and I doubt it is going to happen overnight.
I don't know how many of you catch US cable news, but the partisan nastiness is terrible.

I watched the live stream of the looting on Melrose drive area of LA for over 2 hours and that whole white supremacist story is utter crap. America will always be divided and
this will never change I've lived in NA they are literally a different breed of people. This will only get worse and just wait until the Dallas story hits the news in the morning Texas will become a complete war zone.

Was that the store owner who got stomped and stoned by the mobs after chasing a guy with a machete? Saw the footage on Twitter and it was very bad. Did he survive?

Many bad cops over there getting away with crap unless they are videoed, mass peaceful protest best but doesn't always work. If it were more peaceful a lot more people would join in, civil disobedience, blocking road, rail, etc. Here peaceful protests 1.5 million, violent (very few/none until last year) <300 people. Bad cops/forces in many countries, last year here they opened fire on protests, I got hit in the shoulder by an illegal plastic bullet with propellant and tear gassed many times.

Id wager a guess..this is mostly socioeconomic and not strictly per a black man's rights etc as they claim it to be...These thugs have little to lose, a fair amount probably lost their jobs from covid etc...

You won't see many rich, educated black people at the front lines..maybe peacefully protesting in the background, but not at the frontlines and certainly not thuggery.
