    Hi all

We are looking to replace the crummy slate tiles under our wood heater and entry.

Has anyone had experience in moving the Ultimate wood heater type log fires to tile beneath? Any suggestions appreciated.

the floor is called a hearth

the Ultimate wood heater type log fires - would be called a slow combustion
    wood heater

the slate would be called ugly and dated

Would recommend being careful with this. If installed prior to 2003 the concrete sheeting on the bottom of tiles will almost certainly contain asbestos. Either get removed by expert or retire on current tiles.
