    Hi guys

Appreciate if you can recommend a tiler for shower area waterproofing and tiling?

We have a leak that's showed up on the carpet somehow and the strata sent plumber said its a leakfrom the shower tiles...

    Cheers
    MsAli

    Hi MSAli,
Give Rod 0405271182 a call. He has over 30 years experience and is cheap and done a great job.

Get a second opinion. My strata told me the same, that a leak was from tiling in the shower that was my problem/cost to fix. Turns out there was a leak in the plumbing.

Thanks @beachgurl . Do think it's water proofing. A few years ago one of our family members accidentally left the shower partly on and we went away overseas for 5 weeks :| So although we fixed the tile that came off at the time, the issue is now showing thru ..

Does $2500 for labour sound reasonable for tiling just the shower area walls and floor? This includes water proofing that the tiler said costs $400

Any other tiler recommendations for a 2nd opinion?

Brian, I see he charged you $1750 for the whole bath! On the phone he said it will cost $2500 inc waterproofing for the shower

I done all the waterproofing myself and supplied all materials for him. Is your job big. Are you re-tiling the whole bathroom?

If it's just a repair job then that is expensive.

Nah just the shower area. Remove and redo including waterproofing. Next challenge is to match the tiles with the rest of the bathroom

Sounds a bit expensive. Does that include tiles or do you have to supply them? I'm sorry he priced it a bit high.

Nah that doesn't include tiles. He will come on Sunday to give a proper quote but that's the approximate price he said...

cool, that is much cheaper than $2500. Is it only floor tiles that are water proofed or the wall also?

Marcello is working interstate! And has given another number..

Eric from Step On It Tiling did the bathroom, toilet and front porch of our PPOR. Not cheap but very good.

You need to waterproof walls and floor of a shower, basically anywhere that will cop a fair bit of water.

    Hi @MsAli,
I've had a similar situation on my end and was wondering how did you go with your job?
How much did it end up costing you and what all was covered? Also with the walls being waterproofed, upto how many rows were waterproofed?

    Thanks.

    regards,
    Drummer

@Drummer, luckily, the strata company recommended a few tilers.

They were okay. I would ask for Michael to do the tiling. They sent a tiler who did the floor all wrong and we got them to re-do it. It's not as clean as our usual tiler has done for us. But he prolly has way too much business now. I will have to get back to you on the name.

I believe the whole area was water proofed? You'd need to speak with them though.

Another one that came recommended by a friend that we didn't end up calling...I can PM you the name and number
