That's peculiar. My wife recovers just as fast when I buy her rocks too!

That whole "Latte Factor" mindset is more pertinent to the low-income earner who wants to get into property, to take control of their finances and budgeting habits.

The vast majority of folks on this forum now are mostly below 35 years of age and earning more than 6 figures - so the "Latte Factor" doesn't really apply to them (well; it shouldn't, hopefully).

It's easy for the vast majority of this forum to "glib off" that simple change of mindset for the lower income earner...a $15 saving for those folks can be very significant.

It's a pity there aren't a lot more folks like that on this forum, actually.

    .
All to their own, nothing wrong with this, its all about choice.

I am simply pointing out the obvious, I did the numbers, it wont really change your world, its simply not enough

I agree in early stages of investing its important to be shrewd with your money, but I just hope that its not forever because I think it would be a very dull life if you don't reward yourself along the way. After all what is the point of making money if you are not enjoying today.

MTR, I still haven't seen a photo of your rock. Can you show us one day? I will live vicariously.

    Good on him!

As a low income earner the people who irk me are the ones on high salaries who **** away their money and than ***** and moan about how expensive the cost of living is. That's their choice though so I don't get bitter about it unless they complain to me. Same as if somebody wants to live like a pauper besides less disposable income circulating throughout the economy it's really not hurting anyone. To each their own. Personally I try and balance my life with the 50/50 rule of spending half my income and saving/investing the other half(although it's probably closer to 60/40 in reality).

Tomorrow isn't promised to anyone, but at the same time you can't spend your whole life just living day to day. You've also got to build a nest for a rainy day/retirement.
