I haven’t tasted it yet. I’m scared of it.

I was impressed by the picture so I looked it up. Apparently it’s not a bean (it’s a gourd) and it’s not from New Guinea. But apart from those bits, it’s accurately named.

It’s an alien. It grows that fast it makes the Triffids look positively harmless. Definately not a plant you can turn your back on. I don’t trust it one bit. The women in the picture below was never seen again after getting too close to these beans. Be afraid, very afraid:

IIRC glass blocks are 150mm square - that makes the model about 90 cm tall.

No the glass blocks were custom made. I have it on good authority she was 2.05 metres tall.

She was, but after all that exposure to nuclear waste, she’s now 1.2m tall. Or 4m.

Corn! Small compared to the supermarket variety yet delicious. About half is been lost to ants and grubs so improvements to be made in that regard. Lots more to harvest over the coming weeks.

The various beans and jalapinos really starting to produce like crazy now. Despite eating as many beans as possible this is what’s still left over after 4 day’s of picking them. Snake beans and jalapinos obvious, green and yellow beans in plastic bags. Will need to start freezing them:

The wife just picked a few more things. More beans / jalapinos, a mini cucumber, pale Lebanese zucchini at front and young Mexican Tatume squash (tastes like more flavoursome zucchini rather than squash):

Beautiful. What variety are the flat beans please? I do miss the beautiful runner beans they get in the UK
