If only they were 17. She was "married" off to her first husband - a friend of her father's - at 14. Literally as soon as they menstruate - first baby within a year.

That husband was killed and she was immediately married off to another friend of her father's. Second baby at 16. Pregnant with baby #3 at 17 when second husband was killed.

This is disgusting and I hate to think what she endured during that time as, as I said, they were considered nothing more than property - probably lower than a goat but higher than a chair

It may have gone down that way, but there's also a possibility that the current situation is not a forced pregnancy. Without generalising, devout Muslim families tend to be huge.

    From memory
Didn't that woman help smuggle her daughter & those kids out to a war zone ?

*Her criminal son-inlaw ended up dead
*her daughter ended up dead( appendicitis in a third world country  )
*Her grand daughter 14 years old married and widowed to a 30 year old ISIS thug - she was pregnant when he died ?

*Kids holding peoples heads up for photos

*one or two of the kids were killed ???

I admire nothing about that woman
she needs to go over to Syria and look after them there

play stupid games ..... win stupid prizes

unfortunately, 14 or 17 to me doesnt make much difference

however, if I had the choice to accept a 14 year old vs a 18yr old who had been there for 5 years, id take the older to be honest

edit: what you would do if say there were 2 kids that were married off, and one of their isis fighters husband had died while one was still alive, and decided he wanted to come to australia too if the 2 kids were allowed back into australia? he aint a citizen but he could probably be legally entitled to one

I certainly dont want a former isis fighter walking the streets here either

Speculation and "what if" for scenarios that don't exist doesn't help anything

We are discussing actual women and children here and their actual situation ... not "what if" one of their husbands was still alive.

The husbands are dead so the "what if" is pointless

so its pointless to say what if these kids come back and start behaving like they ve brought up to

    because its "what if"

    sure ok

youre smart enough to know that it sets precedence, you need to think more than just oh "think of the children" and lets worry about the consequences later

Absolutely...correct...the children had nutin to do with the crazy loopy parents....they should not be punished.

Frankly the Australian govt is pretty useless...they should have made an exception in this regard. This is blatant discrimination against these children. People like Dutton....Scott Morrison..are the same idiots who fanned the issues against Muslims...and suddenly they are more progressive when Christchurch happened.

Karen Nettleton...has showed only a caring grandmother side...she did not agree with what here loopy daugter and son in law did. Good riddance to them.

It really ****** me off how the Australian govt seems to wash their hands of their citizens...this level seems to permeate Australian governments.....absolute gooses...

Hopefully in the future no one will ever think that way about your own kids if they are ever in an adverse situation. A little bit of empathy goes a long way.

Not at the expense of multiple others and the bigger picture

Empathy at the expense and detriment of others.....not on in my mind

Edit: as long as you are consistent and if one of these kids did something horrible to your kids , you stand by the original decision

Karen Nettleton is an instigator not a victim

she and her daughter smuggled the children into a war zone
to be with her terrorist son in-law who was waiting trial in regards to blowing up innocent Australians civilians

She is not a hero .....Karen Nettleton has shown a lifetime of bad mistake's she is an idiot

I say BS on this...two sides of the story...she is an Australian grandmother....we have govt playing politics.....people make mistakes....these are Australian children. Perhaps we need someone like Jacinta from NZ to handle instead of the clowns we have here.......you know people like Dutton...Morrison...

You really need to try reading the articles. Any of the articles. You’re are so wrong about the grandmother.

What the grandmother may or may not have done is not relevant to me. The children are Australian citizens which means Australia is responsible for them. Whether we "like" them or not is irrelevant. We are responsible for them and they should be brought home.

2 months after Khaled sharrouf fled the country on a false passport
Tara and Karen Nettleton took the kids to Malaysia
they had to purchased return air fare tickets to fool the authority's
They stayed with sharrouf's sister while in Malaysia

Karen put them on a plane to the middle east then returned back to Australia
