OK so my partner and I for the first time are really getting into the block. Some things I don't understand..

How can they not know what their budget is up to... Like last episode they had no idea... they were up to 25k off...Is it all just acting or what...

forgetting the budget - ignorance is bliss..
the producers always seem to bail them out when they blow the budget.. or "sweep up the communal zone and we'll give you $5000"

Also why get them (forget the couples name) tiles for free after their tiler completely screwed up the bathroom 2 episodes ago...the tiler should be responsible....

I see alot of babying...we should get a PC team together and get on the show for 2018..

Yeah it's a massive plug for Beaumont tiles..
I'd like to see average jo call up Beaumont tiles and to say their tiler just screwed up $20k worth of tiles and see if they replace them at no cost.. good luck

It would be hard work.. too much karaoke while driving, singing and dancing while painting, having to be funny with a camera in your face when waking up after 2 hours sleep..

I don't know why the tilers didn't wear the cost of re-doing the work they screwed up. Did you see the tiling? It was really bad.

First week: bathroom week. I didn't actually like the winning bathroom. Too much concrete looking tile without anything to break it up looked like a prison cell.

Second week: Sticks and Wombat got slammed by the judges for having a period bedroom but modern bathroom. Personally I thought that was perfect. I would not like my ensuite in my 3 million dollar house to be a slavish re-creation of a period bathroom. I have seen them done. They are kitschy.

It was shocking work...Absolutely disgraceful. Tbh i hope those 2 dont win because they ignored the advice from the block builders to ditch their builders and get new ones. We were shocked they actually kept them.....

Totally agree. They are total pros with their time management. No wonder the other teams are concerned.

Other teams are transparently jealous. So far I believe they deserve to win. let's see how they do over the next few weeks.

For the life of me I don't know why they don't take tips from them instead of ganging up on them. Ohh the drama. I don't go much on that Josh dude. Think he is the snake.

I agree. Lots of "giving the finger" and muttering under his breath. Perhaps being the "beautiful couple" has made their lives so far a little smoother than some and they don't like it when they have to follow the rules like everyone else? He seems a bit peeved when things don't fall into his lap.

Of course, it could be the editing, leaving out some other things the other couples do or say whilst leaving in the damning things of others.

Firey episode tonight. Plumber dude accuses G of cheating because someone found a picture on pintrest that looked like a room that looked like one that G had made.

Then the wife got home and tells him that's not cheating, she does it all the time.

    That was an interesting episode.. so to recap on the Block rules;

You're not allowed to directly engage the services of an interior designer.

You're allowed to plagiarise a room layout, item for item (down to the stuffed toy on the bed o_O), which is posted online by an interior designer.

Glad that one has been cleared up.. carry on :)

""The use of Pinterest of Instagram, or any other forms of inspiration, is not against the rules of The Block," Shelly Craft tells 9Homes."
Explosive cheating claims divide The Block - 9homes

There is a reasonably simple explanation for what happened. Georgia bought that bed from Incy Interiors and artwork from norsu, who have a number of displays set up. Sure, the winning room looks similar in some respects to a pintrest post by norsu but I wouldn't call it a slavish re-creation of that display. Georgia slams cheating rumours: ‘They’re sore losers’

On the show, they then showed contestants using insta in pintrest for "inspiration". Elyse and Josh's winning bathroom is a dead knockoff of a bathroom picture sourced online. It is a much more direct copy than Georgia and Ronnie's bedroom.

Much ado about nothing if you ask me.

If the newspaper article is paywalled, the title is: Ronnie and Georgia confronted by fellow contestants on tonight’s episode of The Block
