Hi @nambis, thanks for your comments . The agent is Harcourts, they sold the place to me. I got a 1% discount off their rate and didn't get charged for photos as they used the selling ones. The up front marketing cost is usually 2 weeks rent, they are charging me 1 and they found someone within my criteria on $25 more than the asking rent.

I wasn't sure of using a big real estate for this but they seem ok so far .

Have to have a beer with you June / July 2018

Massive thanks to @Steven Ryan for working with me on this from the start to the finish, you went way way beyond what a broker does, you were there for me as a mentor and a friend also, thankyou mate for everything. This may be the finish of this one but it's only the start of the empire .

Also thanks to a few others on here, I will not name people but you all know who you are, this purchase signifies so much for my wife and I and we are forever grateful to all of you for your help.

Through this process I have actually met a few people both in real life and online who live up there and I can't wait to have you all over for a BBQ when we move up there, it's nice to know that I have such good people so close by.

It's the same way I feel about the Gold Coast. Makes me a bit sad every time I have to leave it to go back to Sydney (though I must say I quite like Sydney too). However, "one day" I'll live on the Gold Coast too.
