Of course too early, but there must be a beginning, no other prez been able to achieve this
Lets be big enough to admit this.....

Someone would think reading this thread people prefer Prez failing instead of peace

We humans are a weird lot

As has been pointed out, there have been a number of other unsuccessful attempts at treaties. Somebody lasted several years, until they were no longer of use to the regime.

Other presidents have been able to achieve a far less vague commitment to denuclearisation.

I'm not going to give any credit before it's due. If it happens, then well done him. He'll get his Nobel prize regardless of what happens after that.

Given the history of six previous treaties, I'm not holding my breath.

The only thing which has been achieved so far is a lot of theatre and a lot of self congratulation.

I am seeing this as a glass half full situation.

We are better off than where we were just 6 months ago when the warmongering was at it's peak.

I doubt we will need to get our updates from the forum. It will be debated ad nauseam in the public arena.

The two dogs involved have no interest in "peace for the region"

I'm pretty sure South Korea and Japan want peace. I'll even go so far and say that the US wants peace in the region too. The only Dog that has demonstrated they don't want peace is North Korea. Let's see what they do.

Not referring to other countries, or the USA, just the two dangerous nutjobs involved in the "negotiation". Both deserve no credit for anything, they have ulterior self motives.

So we have not progressed???.... think again, this is where it was at 12 months ago.

North Korea v US LIVE: Updates as North Korea refuses to halt nuclear development - latest

Am waiting for the next round of meetings.
Lots happening in the background. I think NK leader meeting with SK leader again, unheard of.

Love them or hate them, who cares.....I try to not get caught up in personalities etc, its emotive stuff and serves no purpose.

Not at all. That's just silly. But would you believe a promise that has been made many times before? But never acted on?

Hard to understand how, when presented with a report such as this, you can reach such a ludicrous conclusion.
Most people here have a healthy scepticism about Trump’s negotiation skills and KJU’s intentions and are genuinely concerned about the consequences.
