With the USA raising rates it's sure to be the end of the world especially here in aus where property is our lifeline, but what about those of us that twerk and it all goes south? Where is our salvation? I hope this 37 sec video helps bring our hopes to light

OK, I am going to be honest, I preferred the other one...... "when cats go bad", or when "rats get fat" or "grab a mac", or something like that.... :)

Last night I was shopping. I was surprised at how confident the retailers were. Very very few discounts on offer. And still people were shopping and there were very long lines in the registers.

Looks like the rate cuts are working, and thanks to low inflation people have more buying power.

I've never seen consumer confidence like this in Sydney in the past 3-5 years!

I went to Chatswood last night - parking wasn't an issue. Not a good omen in my book.

Seen some things on TV about strong retails sales this Chrissie period .

I've been helping , new Hobie revolution 13 , Mazda 6 , storage shed for weekender , sofas to replace old uncomfortable one , and professional sound proofing for home recording studio . The reward for selling in Sydney.

Shopping centres in SA were packed out today which is good. Not so good when you just wanna get some overpriced fuel and it takes half an hour. Oil price is now very low, many companies in Aus need it to double before they'll turn a profit.

Low interest rates, and low Aussie dollar meaning people prefer to spend at home rather than going abroad ...

As I loaded up on some specialty retail items at a centre last week I commented to the sales lady that they must be pleased with the active christmas trade - it was humming. She agreed but said that trade for the previous 11 months had been sub-optimal (or words to that effect).
Hope this christmas boost heralds a better year ahead for small retailers.

I remember hearing on Christmas Day that pre-Christmas spending was through the roof in the USA and even higher than it has been for 9 years in Europe. Hopefully, they'll be spending their holiday savings on our sunny shores and drinking the best coffee and wine in the world before too long.

Looked like the typical ******s lining up for boxing day 'bargains' on the news.
