I think Terry changes his signature often to help with the Google search algorithm

Posts generally have a reputation of being profoundly deaf, so they won't hear you.

He probably keeps getting the same questions over and over.
So readers should do their some research before asking, or pick up the phone and book an appointment.

He is busy. He certainly supports his clients. He probably wants to read less requests for free advice in posts ie : here is my situation, what should I do ?.

True, however one should think of this as:

    1) An opportunity to stay on top of things. I find teaching others keeps me at the top of my game, and;

    2) Marketing. For example, even though I've had little interaction with you, I've recently recommended you to someone on the back of the quality of your posts I've observed over the years :)

I get hit up occasionally via conversation or message for legal advice/opinion/commentary/just-a-short-question, so I can only imagine how often Terry would get buzzed. It's probably multiple times daily at a guess.

With 29,549 posts and with all the ''LIKES'' from people to express their gratitude i don't think anyone will reach that number in a long-long time ..
    Stay safe and happy ..Terry..

Not sure exactly what is behind this but the previous comments seem all true.

My observations are that the well established members do not abuse the privilege of asking one or two questions, after doing their own research.

What I see though is people who join and on the first day bombard people with heaps of questions (sometimes with muitiple posts) and expect detailed answers for free.

In my own way I have felt it when I was a business member here and I tended not to answer such people because I thought it was rude of them. They should join, contribute and then ask questions, after showing they are participating in the spirt of mutual benefit for all.

So many people on this site have had the benefit of Terry's freely given advice over many years. As a fellow lawyer who has come to know Terry I have absolute admiration and respect for his advice and his willingness to help others.

I get asked a lot of questions by email, but depreciation is way more simple than the stuff Terry deals with.

I'm not even a business member giving tons of free advice like Terry and I get long PMs . When I don't reply they even have the audacity to get ****** off with their follow up message. So glad I didn't reply at that point.

I can only imagine the volume of messages Terry gets daily.

i'm sure @Terry_w will continue to post with his examples and tips. The responses to specific questions will probably stop.

I always reply and aim for a 24-hour turnaround.

What peeves me off is that once I have replied, no thank-you, no feedback whether my reply was useful, no update later advising how things turned out, ...

My observations is that most of the questions after his tips have been answered before. People need to read through threads and stop being lazy.

I am also gobsmacked at questions the accountants are asked, some complicated issues where using a forum is not appropriate.

Many here very generous with info, but seriously too tight to pay??

Terry is a blogging machine, he's also active on other forums like Whirlpool. He has invested a serious amount of his life online writing tens of thousands of posts so I'm sure he will be back especially as he's paid up for a business plus membership. Good on you Terry <3

I also get a lot of private messages asking advice but I wait 7-10 days before I reply so they know I've got a life and don't spend it all on here. I get peeved off when they don't reply, or not even a thank you. Where's your manners!? Terry must be inundated. Does anyone know how to turn off private messages so I don't receive any?
