What's the website that you can use to check/confirm if someone is a terrorist? or sanctions list?

Terrorists usually have Facebook, Twitter and Instagram accounts. That would be a great place to start.

Nah I remember very clearly there is a gov website you just enter the name and tells you in a search if they are confirmed or not...

    Also look at this:

    UNSC sanctions regime
    1. Australian law prohibits:
    • the provision to any person of, technical assistance or training, or financial assistance, or investment, brokering or other financial services, if it assists with, or is provided in relation to, a supply of ‘export sanctioned goods’
    without a sanctions permit.

    1. Australian law also prohibits the transfer of technology or technical assistance to Iran related to any activity related to ballistic missiles capable of delivering nuclear weapons, including launches using ballistic missile technology

How are you going to be certain they have given you their correct name. Plenty of PM's still do not undertake the 100 point ID check.

Does TICA stand for 'Terrorist Information Centre of Australia'?

If so, no wonder that I get concerned about the tenants having a TICA listing.

No need for a list mate, just generalise by their religion or last name and move on.

Sanctions are for countries not people.

Why on earth do you need to know if a country has a sanction on it for your tenants?

Haha... I was having a bad day art work. This thread made me loosen up :)

I bet the real terrorist would be able to prove that they are not. Otherwise they are very sloppy at what they do :)

I was told as an Aus citizen we have a duty to have a relative close watch of tenants from certain countires on their activities due to the sanctions. I aint got time for that so I thought best to just confirm and do once off and not continually keep a watch. Easier for everyone.

Have they changed it yet? Can you empty their bank accounts? Can you hijack their identity since you have a copy of their licence, passport, birthdate, mediscare card etc?

You have overstepped the mark with regards to the information that you can request from a tenant and must destroy all traces of the password provided and give the tenant an apology for demanding information that they are not required to provide.

This may be ignorance on your part but it is no excuse for using your position of power as landlord.

Just give them a form like the security screening forms:
Have you been involved in any terrorist activity - tick yes or no.
