    Hi all,

Just wondering if anyone has some recommendations for a good company that does preventative termite spraying/inspections/possible repairs in perth? I repaired an old gate on the weekend that was riddled with termites so want to make sure they havnt spread to the roof or other parts of the house as we are going overseas in a couple months.

    TIA

Repairs and termite treatment shouldnt be by the same operator. One is a builder. The other a licensed pest control specialist.

Pest specialists will want to do a thorough inspection to identify any sources and former or active termite activity and trace to nest/s. Important you dont spray or interfere with them at all in any way. They run when disturbed. Leave solely to an expert. They may want to bait and will generally incorporate poison. Usually you leave repairs until they tell you.

They will usually also recommend continued monitoring which isnt terribly costly.

Yes i am aware that pest control companies do not do the repairs. I probably shouldve worded that better by saying termite remediation. Im not even sure there is termite damage in the roof so looking for them to assess then spray if needed. Thanks for the recommendation @spoon

I am looking for termite treatmeant and there are few tyoes , one is just chemical based 10l in 1 linear meter and one is the box in the ground with bait.

In Perth the company who did pest inspection is recommending chemical treatment and the one in Ade recommending bait boxes with ongoing cost of refilling the system bcoz the property have concrete and sub floor!

Does anyone have opinion on chemical with 8 years warranty/life vs bait box ?

My quotes were around $1000 for chemical, $5000 for bait. I did the chemical. Had to call back once which was under the warranty. It’s been about 8 yrs since initial treatment an no over issues.

Baiting is used for certain conditions. Often used together with barrier methods.

eg tree stump and nests. We had a neighbour with that who had buried a few stumps. We had a bait station in our back yard as the monitoring point. And barrier otherwise.

Andrew Wilson Pest Control. Top guy that doesn’t rip you off. I had aggressive termites in the roof and less aggressive termites in the yard. I think they got stirred up when neighbour cleared sheds and built 2 new houses. My HWS was leaking at the time also. Service.com.au
