Taxes in Australia on inherited overseas property

    Thank you again to everyone who gave feedback, appreciate it.

    Looks like it's a bit of a grey area so, will pass on all the numbers/figures/exchange rates he needs to have for any potential tax consequences.

    Turns out it was inherited in 2009. The now owner's childhood friend, became ill and gave the apartment to the current owner well before he passed and remained living in the apartment until he passed I'm guessing a few years later.
