Ok. I need to know. What people vote on the Urban list? Which countries are they typically from?

Secondly, now having read the article, it doesn't really indicate Tasmania is up there with New York in terms to popularity. The headline kind of alludes to it but it's not really supported by the article so the headline is misleading. It does say that Tasmania was voted the most popular place in Australia by the Millennials who voted on the Urban list. That's all.

    No iss
No issues with that it has pristine wilderness and clean food. Even the Chinese have noticed. But comparing it to NY....totally different animal.

Haha, I know the winters are cold, but I'd love to live there, I loved the place. Convincing the Mrs that the cold is OK is another story though haha.

While starting to setup my finance I've been monitoring a few suburbs I was keen on for an IP, and less than 6 months later I already feel like I've missed that boat.

Sash the article isnt comparing the two.

The age group surveyed were merely nominating their number #1 preference for domestic travel (Tasmania) and for international travel (New York).

Probably not . People sleep walk , but I've never heard of sleep posting .....

Sash is more interested in spread sheets and point scoring than paying attention to what is actually being discussed

    Wrong.

In their positions at the top of a preferred destination list , it is . That's clearly stated in the OP.

Well the most visited city in the world is actually Hong Kong. 70 million visitors per annum.

Travel Study: Millennials Name Tasmania As Their Most Desirable Destination (& New York)

This is the headline of the article. It does not state that millennials prefer Tas to NY, as some of you are alluding. It goes on to state that they voted Tasmania as their favourite domestic destination, and NY as their favourite overseas destination.

Angel , I'd be interested if you could point out any place in this post where anyone suggests or alludes to anyone preferring Tasmania to New York .

As I started the post , I took the time to read all the replies and I can't see it .

Comparing is not the same as preferring . As they both made the top of their relevant lists , it is appropriate to use the word compare .

I even read the posts of people I have on ignore ....

Considering Tasmanis is now booming. What type of property is good for long term investment in long term? In which town - Hobart, Launceston, Burnie etc? A small centrally located house or big lands in outlying surburbs?

Any Buyers Agent in Tasmania to recommend? I am not familiar with Tassie but interested to know more about it.

If you asked that question for anywhere you'll get different suggestions depending on personal preference of investment styles .

Personally , I'd go middle , outer ring in Hobart ( inner ring has already started moving ) or inner Launceston . I'd also look at the north coast .

There are several threads on Hobart , Tasmania and Launceston over the last year which cover all the questions you've asked . Search and you will find .

Guys really. I personally love Tasmania and Tasmanians, and Tasmania would make an excellent nuclear war retreat zone (not so much NY), but to say its comparable with New York, I mean, come on.

Its not comparing apples to oranges, but like comparing aircraft carriers to patrol boats.

Speaking of which I will invest in Hobart eventually.
