Any idea how or is there any way to find out Housing Commission in specific suburbs?

One of my wife's colleague told her that many pockets of North Rocks has housing commission !!!

If there are, I wouldn't worry about any housing commission homes in North Rocks.

    How about this one?

    5/26-28 Eddy Street, Thornleigh

I asked the agent about this one and it's around $950k-1mil. Expensive strata though ($9xx/qtr)...

I have been looking around WPH/Thornleigh/Epping/North Shore. Quite difficult to find anything with grass under $1mil (which even then to me is quite a lot of $$), and within 1hr commute to Newtown. I need good school catchment (3-yr old daughter) so my choice is a bit limited. Plan is to live in and maybe turn it into an IP if we upgrade.

@Cimbom you can see from the map with those big thick yellow lines. I knew/ worked with someone who was renting on that 'island' about 20+ years ago - could even be that house. It was very very very busy and noisy even then. She didn't mind because she was brought up in another country where that kind of noise is par for the course. She just wanted to live on the north shore.
You can't even cross that road now. There're traffic lights right there too. There was a death by chocolate just opened - probably gone now.

It's right on Pennant Hills Rd and near some major traffic lights.
Unfortunately, these areas that were once prized have become extremely busy and consequently, less desirable to the people you probably want to be around.

If you are hapoy to live on a busy road , you can actually buy a house with land in that price.

    Hummmm because ???

Also, the vibe is sydney market is going through correction and with the IO term complete prices may go down etc. But I think majority of people living in WPH and North Rocks are owner occupier very few might be investors. Is it still worth to wait ?!?!

    $900 is not expensive starta.
It's actually what I consider minimal required so money can be added to sinking fund and effective caring and insurance for assets.

Any.less property's has almost no common areas or poorly maintained with minimal sinking fund

In North Rocks there's hardly any violence or anti-social behaviour, it's not a police hot spot, its a suburb that's never in the news...
There's nothing to worry about in terms of community in North Rocks. Its a nice village-like community.

How were the auction results this weekend?

Only a handful "reported" and even fewer cleared?

no its not. dont know what map you're looking at.

its on the other side of the train tracks. its a nice quiet pocket, 5 minute walking distance to the train station and awesome coffee shop that used to be my local milk bar. good location if a bit hilly. penno road is close but not an issue.

its a good spot, go check it out. its not on the main road at all. i used to live up the road on Nicholson Ave and walked past there every day wishing i lived around there to be closer to the train station. its on a bit of a hill but a really nice pocket.
