Um, going out for a walk with never ending coffee as an excuse to have no mask is not exercise, it is an excuse.

If you cannot breath when walking through a mask, maybe walking is not advisable.

Either way, those LGAs have a rule now.

Just my thoughts, but am sick of peoples excuses, going to the shop every day for 1 item, or multiple times for one item at a time is just that, an excuse.

I don't even bother taking my mask off between jobs now !
For those that want to complain about their glasses fogging up when sitting wearing a mask, try whippersnipping a few hundred meters on a nice sunny 24deg day wearing cuff to collar, a hat, earmuffs and a mask
    !
I work alone, I avoid people, they're either owners at a complex wanting more/extra stuff done for free or complaining, then there's the lonely crazy people !
There's only one complex where I interact with people, and currently I'm not permitted to anyway.
The only social interaction I've had in the last 16 days has been with my household and the bottle shop attendant :D

The rules are pretty simple, if you are NOT from the same household you HAVE to wear a mask, walking around chatting whilst carrying an empty cup doesn't cut it !
It has to stop, same goes for so many going to visit family
(Example: I'd go back 4 month's and find my post about the young woman who walked around Sydney airport/T2 for over 90 mins with a coffee cup just so she didn't have to put on a mask because she thougbt she was "all that", but I can't be bothered).
Maybe I am going a litle stir crazy also, sorry about that

Yep, he tested positive and was ordered to self isolate, yet seems to have told another household member he was going to work yet went visiting in another suburb

All he got was a $1,000 fine o_O

What a joke, here's a $1,000 fine and a $3,500 dollar bill for your 14 days in hotel quarantine that starts in 30 min :p
PS, should the people you visited also test possitive you will be paying for their hotel quarantine also :D

You need one of these. Run the in-suit climate control to max cooling ;)

Hopefully it doesn't get anywhere near where Melbourne was last year - we were clocking 700 per day.

We had the AZ. Second dose not due to beginning of September. We could bring it forward & do it now, but are holding out to do it at the scheduled time. We aren't in one of the LGA's with the extra restrictions, and only go out for groceries & medical, so unless things get really bad where we are, we'll hold out.

Not quite: we did peak at 725 but if I'm reading the stats correctly our 7-day average (a better measure) topped out at about 500 and once the 725 had belatedly pushed our government into what many alleged was completely OTT restrictions the numbers fell away steadily: 5/8: 496; 12/8: 342; 19/8: 260; 26/8: 147, and then to 9 on 15/10. The really worrying thing about Sydney is that all the measures taken so far doesn't seem to be doing anything other than stabilising the numbers at ~200.

More worrying is that maybe 159 of the 239 were not in isol/quarant.

Yes, it may not be exploding, but it is still growing....

If it was 159 this time, then it means a week from now numbers will be much worse & nothing would indicate the number out wont keep growing...

Not one you want to try to match! Anyway NSW/SYD has already beaten us on the testing numbers front. Awesome to see 100,000+ tests in a day.

By the looks of it NSW these lockdowns arent working and NSW is now just relying on vaccines to get out of this mess.

If EVERYONE does their part and go get the god damn Astrazeneca ASAP we could well get out of these lockdowns very quickly. At least Sydney could anyway. There are only 5.3M ppl in Sydney. How many are adult over 18? Lets just say 70% of that. We can achieve this within a month if everyone does their part and gets both 4 weeks apart which is now the advice.

We are going to have to learn to live with 1000s and 1000s of infections per day. As long as most are vaccinated and deaths minimised thats it. There will be deaths in the future even with 80 or 90% vaccination we will have to accept it. There are 1000s of deaths per year just from influenza.

Lockdown strategy must be 100% gone. Its not sustainable approach and the longer the governments use it the less its going to work. Nearly 2 years in ppl have just simply had enough. The longer its used and the longer lockdowns go on the less they work.

Please EVERYONE go get the AZ vaccine ASAP. Today/tomorrow asap. That's the bottom line.
