Sydney Conveyancer/Solicitor Recommendations

    Can someone recommend a good conveyancer/solicitor in Sydney for a bog-standard property transaction?

    I have 'interviewed' a few, asking some basic questions on the phone and no one is clicking/jumping out as being really on the ball.

    One thing I have noticed, is that a lot of the licenced conveyancers, charge more than the solicitors?! I want to find one that I can pick up the phone and ring and get through to the person handling my matter, not just dealing with some 18 year old receptionist... Any suggestions greatly appreciated!!

    South of the harbour bridge would be good, but I guess it doesn't really matter...

    I have used both Jenny from The Conveyancing Shop in Baulkham Hills and Mary Melissari from Austates Conveyancing in Hornsby

    Both very knowledgeable and helpful, no BS, down to earth people who give great advice and get the job done

    FWIW, cheap and good rarely come in the same package, especially in the conveyancing world. If and when things go wrong during settlement, you might wish you paid for someone who can sort out issues effectively. For anyone decent, you'll likely need to speak to a receptionist to get through until you engage them. If they are sought after and busy they don't generally have time to hang around the phone waiting to be interviewed.

    Great! Keep them coming, yes completely agree re price - I am happy to pay more for good legal advice and service, in the case of legal you get what you pay for.....

    What are your basic questions and that no one is clicking or jumping out?
    Do you already have a property that you want to buy or sell? If you are just interviewing for future use, i wouldn't expect them to be that enthusiastic with interviews.

    Totally agree with you Depreciator, thanks for the best recommendation that I have ever taken.

    I had some issue with my auctioned purchase and upon hearing my case while time is of essence, Mimi immediately jump on her dedicated service and help me yield an exceptional outcome of the transactions.
