    Hi ,
I’m in chatswood for many years. Interested in buying shiny Torrens title property in Riverstone / Schfields area. For 700-840k budget I could only see houses in Riverstone/ schofields.

Is my location choice good or not good ?

Any preferences within the suburb like north etc ?

Blacktown / Quaker hill / Marayong and some other suburbs along the train line are actually selling good sized properties for same budget. Wondering if it should look into those instead of my current choice

Can I buy land in vineyard and sit on it for few years?

Is duplex type houses possible under 840k budget ( for passive income ?)

First time buyer, so I’m having lot of questions.

For 850k, you could buy a house that needs renovation in seven hills or toongabbie not far from the train line which imho is better than the suburbs you mentioned for many reasons. You could also buy a relatively new townhouse in those suburbs.

Pendle hill, wentworthville, labor park, kings Langley, blacktown, seven hills, toongabbie.
All should have properties that fit your budget and are near a train line. Just won’t be new or shiny. Good luck.

Agree with Foxdan. You have heaps of options. Have a look at the train timetables too.
Note that train fares to Town Hall are cheaper east of Seven Hills, but Seven Hills itself is a good option because the train services are numerous and are often quick/express.

    What Foxdan said.

The areas you mention are really far out... how will that compares traveling to the city vs Chatswood?

Land appreciates in value, building depreciates.

Better get something with good land component vs a new shiny house on a postage stamp sized block.

You can look at Quakers hill. Good value for money for lot of reasons

    1. Direct trains to city 48 mins. Trains every 10 mins in peak hours.
    2. Most of the houses come with block sizes greater than 500 sqms. Lot of them have granny flat potential for that additional rental income
    3. 4 good schools and highschool. Also QPS has OC classes training to get into selective schools
    4. Mixed community
    5. Good rental demand
    6. Varying price range from 650k to 1.2 Million properties so there is chance to add value when you take on the lower range. Example -
    20 Peel Street Quakers Hill NSW 2763 - House for Sale #128694670 - realestate.com.au
